Happiness to Work

Our current

open positions

[THJM_JOBS]
About the role We're a US-based live events and audio-visual production company with a lean, high-performance operations structure. We're looking for an Accounting Manager who truly owns the books — someone who brings the accounting judgment, discipline, and independence that keeps our finances clean and decision-ready at all times. You'll report directly to our Senior Director of Operations and serve as the accounting authority for the business. Our HR & Finance Coordinator — who handles day-to-day HR and basic bookkeeping tasks and also reports to the Senior Director of Operations — will collaborate with you on accounting and finance-related tasks. While you are not their manager, you are the standard-setter: you define how transactions are recorded, and you're empowered to correct and redirect when something isn't right. This is a full-time, ongoing remote contract role. We welcome international applicants with strong US GAAP knowledge and experience supporting US-based businesses. Availability during US Eastern Time business hours is required. This is equal parts execution and ownership. You'll grind through the close, reconcile the details, and keep the books clean — and you'll also be the one who spots when something doesn't look right, figures out why, fixes it, and brings a clean summary to leadership. You won't wait to be asked. You'll see the problem, solve it, and present it. Our accounting function is intentionally lean. There's no accounting team to hide in — just you, a coordinator who handles the basics, and leadership that trusts you to run the function. If you thrive with autonomy and take pride in clean books, you'll fit right in.  What you'll own
  • Full ownership of the day-to-day under US GAAP — accurate, complete, and audit-ready
  • Monthly close process, completed on schedule without senior intervention
  • Revenue recognition for production contracts, show settlements, and non-standard deal structures
  • Job costing accuracy across events, productions, and service engagements
  • Intercompany transactions and complex or one-off deal execution
  • Set the standard for how transactions are recorded and ensure the HR & Finance Coordinator executes consistently against it
  • Identify financial discrepancies, process gaps, or anomalies — then fix them independently and present findings and resolution to leadership
What success looks like
  • Leadership can make decisions off clean, trustworthy numbers — every time
  • Close happens on time, every month, without a scramble or escalation
  • When something is off, leadership hears about it after it's already been investigated and resolved — not as an open question
  • The HR & Finance Coordinator knows exactly how to book transactions because you've set the standard
  • Job costs on every show and production are accurate and reconciled
  • If you were away for 30 days, the books would still close correctly
What we're looking for
  • 4+ years of accounting experience, ideally supporting a project- or event-based business
  • Strong, working knowledge of US GAAP — you know the rules and can explain the "why" behind them
  • QuickBooks Online proficiency (advanced preferred)
  • Hands-on experience with job costing and revenue recognition for contract or production-based work
  • Comfortable working independently and making accounting judgment calls without hand-holding
  • Collaborative communicator — able to guide and support a coordinator without creating bottlenecks
  • CPA or CPA candidate a strong plus — not required if experience speaks for itself
  • Fluent in English — written and verbal communication with US-based leadership required
  • Available during US Eastern Time business hours (full overlap preferred)
 Bonus points
  • Direct experience in live events, AV production, touring, or entertainment finance
  • Familiarity with show budgets, vendor settlements, and production cost structures
  • Experience supporting a US-based operations or executive team remotely
  • Exposure to multi-entity or intercompany accounting structures

Company Overview

Orion Mobility is a global mobility and relocation services company supporting international workforce movements across multiple continents. With operations spanning China, Mexico, and expanding into Brazil and India, Orion manages complex, high-volume international financial operations in a fast-moving, operationally driven environment.

The company is known for long employee tenure, loyalty, and a hands-on culture where people step in, figure things out, and execute.

Role Overview

The International Controller will act as the right hand to the CFO, owning the day-to-day global accounting operations while helping design, standardize, and scale financial structures across multiple countries.

This is a builder role, not a maintenance role. You will jump in, take ownership, set up new entities and books, improve processes, and directly manage an accounting team operating across regions.

While the CFO focuses on treasury and strategic finance, this role ensures execution, compliance, and operational excellence globally.

Key Responsibilities

Global Accounting & Compliance

  • Own global accounting operations across China, Mexico, U.S., and expansion markets (Brazil, India).

  • Set up and maintain new legal entities and local books as Orion enters new markets.

  • Ensure accurate local invoicing, statutory compliance, and reporting in each country.

  • Manage vendor accounting, AP/AR, reconciliations, and month-end close globally.

  • Oversee accounting for high-volume, bulk payments (multi-million USD flows).

Treasury & Banking Operations

  • Partner closely with the CFO on global treasury activities.

  • Manage international banking relationships, payments, credit lines, and cash movement.

  • Support FX exposure tracking and cross-border payment processes.

Systems & Process Ownership

  • Design and implement scalable accounting processes and controls.

  • Identify inefficiencies and proactively recommend improvements.

  • Standardize workflows while adapting to local regulatory requirements.

Team Leadership

  • Act as the operational leader for accounting execution.

  • Build structure, accountability, and clarity for a highly hands-on team.

  • Balance autonomy with guidance—this team executes well once structure is set.

Reporting & Stakeholder Management

  • Deliver timely, accurate financial reporting to the CFO and executive leadership.

  • Coordinate with regional partners, EOR providers, and external advisors.

  • Ensure transparency and reliability in global financial data.

Ideal Candidate Profile

Experience

  • 8+ years in international accounting or controllership roles.

  • Proven experience managing multi-country accounting operations.

  • Experience opening new entities and setting up local accounting from scratch.

  • Strong background in international banking, invoicing, and compliance.

  • Experience managing teams directly.

Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of global accounting principles.

  • Hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online (or similar ERP).

  • Comfortable working with EOR models and international contractors.

  • Solid understanding of treasury operations and cash flow management.

Personal Attributes (Critical Fit)

  • Comfortable with ambiguity and “figure-it-out” environments.

  • Operationally strong, structured thinker.

  • Proactive, but not overly rigid.

  • Flexible, approachable, and easy to work with.

  • Not afraid of the unknown or entering new markets.

  • Focused on execution first, optimization second.

This is not a fast-paced startup fire drill—but it does require ownership, resilience, and initiative.

Why This Role Matters

Orion Mobility is at a pivotal stage: expanding internationally while managing growing financial complexity. This role is central to ensuring that growth is structured, compliant, and scalable—without slowing down operations.

If you enjoy building systems, owning outcomes, and leading teams through complexity, this role offers real autonomy and long-term impact.

Why This Role Exists

Pesty Marketing is scaling quickly, and our paid media systems must deliver consistent performance as we grow. Last year, we generated $2M in revenue. This year, we are on track to reach $5M. As we scale, paid media plays a critical role in driving predictable lead flow for our clients. We currently manage 19+ active Google Ads accounts, with monthly budgets typically ranging from $15K–$40K per client. This role exists to ensure account-level performance consistency as volume increases, so CPL stays efficient, lead quality remains high, and paid media continues to be a reliable growth channel instead of a risk factor. For the right person, this is an opportunity to own meaningful budgets, work inside a mature system that values data and judgment, and grow into either a Paid Media Lead / Director role or a Senior IC with broader scope, depending on preference.

The Mission

The mission of the Paid Media Manager is to own and optimize Google Ads performance across a portfolio of client accounts, delivering efficient CPL and strong lead quality while operating within clear guardrails and improving the systems that keep performance stable at scale. This is a hands-on IC role for someone who enjoys being accountable for numbers and is comfortable owning outcomes.

Measurable Outcomes (6–12 Months)

An A Player in this role will consistently deliver the following outcomes:
  • CPL remains efficient and predictable across assigned accounts, relative to client benchmarks
  • Lead quality remains high, with no degradation caused by reckless targeting or optimization decisions
  • Performance issues are identified and addressed proactively, before clients or account managers raise concerns
  • Budgets are paced accurately, with opportunities surfaced and clearly recommended to clients
  • Reporting is accurate, timely, and trusted, supported by clean data and clear analysis
  • Paid media systems and hygiene improve over time, reducing risk as account volume grows
  • Leadership confidence in paid media execution increases, not decreases, as scale increases
Failure to protect lead quality or maintain performance consistency is considered underperformance.

What You’ll Own

Campaign Strategy & Execution

  • Plan, launch, and optimize Google Ads campaigns (Search, Display, Performance Max)
  • Own daily optimization across 8–12 client accounts
  • Operate within predefined guardrails while identifying and recommending growth opportunities
  • Treat client budgets with discipline and respect—no wasted spend

Performance Analysis & Reporting

  • Analyze performance using Google Ads, GA4, Google Sheets, and reporting dashboards
  • Manipulate and analyze data to understand CPL, conversion rates, and lead quality trends
  • Use CallRail as the primary SQL source of truth (experience preferred, not required)
  • Support clients using HubSpot as a lead quality source of truth (nice to have)
  • Deliver clear insights that explain why performance is changing, not just what changed

Collaboration & Communication

  • Collaborate with Account Managers, creatives, and the Funnel Architect
  • Occasionally join client calls or emails to discuss performance and recommendations
  • Translate performance data into clear, plain-language insights

Process & Quality Control

  • Maintain clean campaign structure, naming conventions, tracking, and UTMs
  • Contribute to SOPs, playbooks, and scalable workflows
  • Improve systems over time instead of relying on heroics
  • Protect lead quality through disciplined executio

Experience & Capabilities

Required

  • 6+ years managing Google Ads for B2C lead generation
  • Experience managing $200K+ monthly ad spend
  • Strong track record optimizing for CPL efficiency and lead quality
  • Expert-level experience with Google Ads (Search, Display, PMax)
  • Strong working knowledge of GA4
  • High proficiency in Google Sheets (data manipulation, formulas, analysis)
  • Strong written and conversational spoken English
  • Ability to work US business hours (PT, CT, ET, or slightly ahead of ET)

Nice to Have

  • Experience with CallRail or similar call tracking platforms
  • Experience working with HubSpot as a CRM or lead quality source
  • Agency experience managing multiple accounts simultaneously
  • Experience contributing to SOPs or scalable paid media systems
  • Familiarity with home services or local lead generation businesses

Core Competencies (Non-Negotiable)

An A Player in this role consistently demonstrates:
  • Accountability – enjoys owning numbers and results
  • Judgment – protects lead quality while optimizing for efficiency
  • Analytical rigor – digs into data instead of guessing
  • Discipline – respects budgets and guardrails
  • Proactivity – surfaces issues and opportunities early
  • Autonomy – operates without needing step-by-step instructions

Who This Role Is Not For

  • Paid media managers who need constant direction
  • Candidates uncomfortable owning performance outcomes
  • Button-pushers who optimize without considering lead quality
  • People who chase vanity metrics at the expense of sales results

Growth Path

  • This role is designed to grow with the company:
  • Paid Media Manager → Paid Media Lead / Director, or
  • Senior IC with broader scope and higher-impact accounts
  • Growth is based on performance, judgment, and system ownership—not tenure.

Final Note

This role is for someone who likes being accountable for real numbers, values clean systems, and understands that protecting lead quality is just as important as driving volume. If you want autonomy, ownership, and a clear path to growth in paid media, this role will fit.

Why This Role Exists Pesty Marketing is scaling quickly, and our paid media systems must deliver consistent performance as we grow. Last year, we generated $2M in revenue. This year, we are on track t...
