Company Overview
Orion Mobility is a global mobility and relocation services company supporting international workforce movements across multiple continents. With operations spanning China, Mexico, and expanding into Brazil and India, Orion manages complex, high-volume international financial operations in a fast-moving, operationally driven environment.
The company is known for long employee tenure, loyalty, and a hands-on culture where people step in, figure things out, and execute.
Role Overview
The International Controller will act as the right hand to the CFO, owning the day-to-day global accounting operations while helping design, standardize, and scale financial structures across multiple countries.
This is a builder role, not a maintenance role. You will jump in, take ownership, set up new entities and books, improve processes, and directly manage an accounting team operating across regions.
While the CFO focuses on treasury and strategic finance, this role ensures execution, compliance, and operational excellence globally.
Key Responsibilities
Global Accounting & Compliance
-
Own global accounting operations across China, Mexico, U.S., and expansion markets (Brazil, India).
-
Set up and maintain new legal entities and local books as Orion enters new markets.
-
Ensure accurate local invoicing, statutory compliance, and reporting in each country.
-
Manage vendor accounting, AP/AR, reconciliations, and month-end close globally.
-
Oversee accounting for high-volume, bulk payments (multi-million USD flows).
Treasury & Banking Operations
-
Partner closely with the CFO on global treasury activities.
-
Manage international banking relationships, payments, credit lines, and cash movement.
-
Support FX exposure tracking and cross-border payment processes.
Systems & Process Ownership
-
Design and implement scalable accounting processes and controls.
-
Identify inefficiencies and proactively recommend improvements.
-
Standardize workflows while adapting to local regulatory requirements.
Team Leadership
-
Act as the operational leader for accounting execution.
-
Build structure, accountability, and clarity for a highly hands-on team.
-
Balance autonomy with guidance—this team executes well once structure is set.
Reporting & Stakeholder Management
-
Deliver timely, accurate financial reporting to the CFO and executive leadership.
-
Coordinate with regional partners, EOR providers, and external advisors.
-
Ensure transparency and reliability in global financial data.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Experience
-
8+ years in international accounting or controllership roles.
-
Proven experience managing multi-country accounting operations.
-
Experience opening new entities and setting up local accounting from scratch.
-
Strong background in international banking, invoicing, and compliance.
-
Experience managing teams directly.
Technical Skills
-
Strong knowledge of global accounting principles.
-
Hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online (or similar ERP).
-
Comfortable working with EOR models and international contractors.
-
Solid understanding of treasury operations and cash flow management.
Personal Attributes (Critical Fit)
-
Comfortable with ambiguity and “figure-it-out” environments.
-
Operationally strong, structured thinker.
-
Proactive, but not overly rigid.
-
Flexible, approachable, and easy to work with.
-
Not afraid of the unknown or entering new markets.
-
Focused on execution first, optimization second.
This is not a fast-paced startup fire drill—but it does require ownership, resilience, and initiative.
